Way Go Melky!

Cabrera hits for cycle in Chicago.

Great shot in NYtreeTimes; must ration.
The website has not it, but another.

What's this about "the skids"?
To say such about der Jankles!

Lo and Behold

My mother's birthday and serendipitously an Irish afternoon.
She'd've been in a catbird seat taking in the scene at O'Connor's.
A benefit held for local musician turned out healthy crowd.
Tuneful cadre presented toward goes around gets along.

Brian and the Biffos. Robyn fiddling.
Another splendid example of "Practice, practice, practice."

Brazen Heads with a little syncopatious enthusiasm.
Ah... some great gift ideas for Mom!

Glad to see and hear BrĂd Dower. In fine fettle, she was.
Her music such a delight; it's perfectly calming and a comfort.

The spread. The hover. The plunge.
The Celts invented bowls.

Closely, the Irishry in me comes maternally, you see.
Much lovey dovey; mistemper'd weapons to the ground.

Did I mention the DBacks defeated them Metsies?
(Only circa 20 games behind LA... it can be done!)
"The trick is growing up without growing old."
We knew that.

All a Blur

The local band done for the night, pulled this up.
Local indeed - staying in the neighborhood.
Except for the rocking and skirling, a quiet evening.
Church tomorrow. Up with the Wide Awakes.

How He Got Here

Listened to some mighty fine music today.
The sound was Goodman and Krupa, updated.
Asked the coffee kids who it was... KOOP.
Swede samplers looping away. Too much.

Same woman with the grounded spiel I related thus.
Totally without a groove - analysing the metaschmooze?
The Swedes also got into a steel drum tangent.
Told her about street (59th & Lex) musicians. "Nice memory."

Later on, speaking with farming fellow, better ground!
Mentioned to him how I went west as young man:
"My ex-wife got pinched on the subway."
Next thing I know, I'm in Oregon. More or less!

So another Saturday night in a wannabe city.
Have couscous and vittles ready to go after cabaret.
Ran into old friend. I'd take and post his picture but...
think I'll wait until he's turned out in his piper kit.

Law of Averages

Looks like I'm not the only candid crafter with a focal issue.

Just went to look up DBack team batting average.
They don't make it easy on their website.
Maybe because, at .249, they're third worst.
Angel Pagan slams the grandiose... no hard feelings.

In the You Learn Something New department:
klatched with a woman reading about this.
Not very conversant. Made Berkeleyan comment.
"Modulating perceptions, are we?" No humor.
Is she in it for the money?

Update; as if we're following that market closely.
Don't get caught short and bent over?

Walk It Off

They've got a Taj Mahal hanging here. Straightened it yesterday.
Could go with she all by her lonesome or himself leaving the world...
it's not what it's cracked up to be; as if we didn't already know.

Disposed toward something more cozy. Always have been.
Be nicesa boys; don fight. Have a cannoli. Take up Dobro!

Took a mope. Stark shadows midday... graining softens.

Waiting on pedestrian signal; had no idea one needed to alert them.

Bad frost of two winters ago? Informed: ash tree; needs pruning.

Let's take a break! Salt River Canyon enhancement.

The fellows surrounded by indigenous motif... looks awfully Mayan.
Took me a few minutes to remember this.
Believe it or not, spoke with an Armenian DJ about that.
She came on like gangbusters, then cowered away.

On the way back to coffee found these pennies.
Have tassled loafers now. Fond recall of chino guys.
Oxford broadcloth... maybe Argyle socks. Smart.
Have to get to DBacks in Flushing. Dutchmen!

Ladies From Hell?

Wrap the day up at Finnegan's. Bring on the Keltic Cowboys.

Fiddle Lady (not from, etc.) Laura rustles up a jig in no time. Superb.

Frank can look downright fierce. Are his ladies the same as these?
More or less; each his own variation - Highland (assault) Regiments.

Solid backing - there's another one of those phantadollops!

Had a fine conversation with an Iraqi veteran, a Black Hawk maintainence specialist, on his way back to school to study Archeology. He described his own expeditions in and around the White Mountains gridding sites. We agreed that, when in the depth of study, wise not to get detoured into political polemicism - have your say and walk on. Shoot the rapids sometime too.
