Wonderful

Came upon above browsing Out of Africa takes.

Back in the city, back in Woodside, we had a neighbor who made several trips to Africa (plus other continents) sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Elton Fax was both a writer and a graphic artist, and a superb fellow.

His apartment was filled with African art - masks and fabrics, along with many portraits of people he'd met in his travels. He lived catty-corner from us.

Remember one time my brother and I were washing my father's car in the street adjacent to the house. Lathering it up, he passed by smiling, joshing:

"Good work. I'm next."
We laughed. We always called him Mr. Fax.
And Mrs. (That was Betty.)
They've passed. Good people.
